This came during His Highness honoring the employees of the first batch of executive heads of government design from the "Government Learning and Design Program", which aims to prepare and qualify national cadres from federal and local government agencies, able to include concepts and methods of human-centered design thinking in the core of government work. At the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence.

The "Government Learning and Design" program, organized by the UAE government in cooperation with the Palmood Foundation, is the first program of its kind in the world, which is based on the inclusion of principles of design thinking in government work, and the development of an integrated design system, based on the experiences of individuals and partnership with Society, and aims to make a quantum leap in government work aimed at designing best practices and making effective and effective decisions by enriching government work mechanisms with creative community ideas.

The government design program aims to bring about a radical change in government work, by adopting new principles that contribute to the redesign of government initiatives, policies and strategies, to ensure that the aspirations of society are met, and to enable graduates to present future ideas and innovations that adopt creative solutions and develop new mechanisms and tools in government work, It supports the authorities' efforts to prepare for the future.

The program seeks to build the capabilities of employees, develop their design talents, and train them on new work tools to enable them to develop creative solutions through research, information gathering, and direct communication with the community to design government models and change traditional methodologies, based on an integrated approach centered on human needs and future aspirations.

An elite group of national cadres

The first batch of the government design program included a group of national cadres from federal and local government employees, who were selected through three main evaluation stages, which adopted criteria that focused on their skills, talents, and ability to learn and develop, bring about comprehensive mobility in government work, and their levels of cognitive curiosity and creative thinking. And their ability to lead positive change efforts, train work teams, and prepare specialized cadres in designing the future of government work.

The associates worked on projects aimed at designing innovative solutions to the challenges facing community members, while the program, which was organized over a period of four months, included lectures, interactive sessions and field visits to learn about design thinking concepts.
