Potsdam (dpa / bb) - In order to protect residents of nursing homes in Brandenburg from being infected with the corona virus, new visiting rules will be implemented in the facilities from Wednesday.

According to the then applicable new containment ordinance, visitors must wear an FFP-2 mask during their stay, unless they do a quick test.

"We hope that many visitors will make use of the rapid tests or bring masks that are in good condition and protect," said Anne Baaske, managing director of the AWO Brandenburg, on Tuesday.

"It's all about protecting the residents."

Employees must have themselves tested for the coronavirus on a regular basis and wear FFP-2 protective masks.

Visits are only allowed by one person per day.
