There are 13 detention orders issued by the magistrates of the DDA of Palermo that hundreds of agents of the mobile teams of Palermo and Trapani, supported by those of the operational central service, are carrying out in these hours.
Twenty suspects including a mayor, accused of electoral corruption and extortion, and several entrepreneurs.
The hypothesized accusations - continues Ansa - against the suspects are, for various reasons, mafia association, extortion, fire, theft, personal aiding and abetting and electoral corruption, aggravated by the mafia method.
The handcuffs were taken for some entrepreneurs and for a manager of a public company in Trapani who is also the president of a social cellar while the mayor is only under investigation.
A series of searches are also underway in the Trapani countryside to search for weapons.
