Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - North Rhine-Westphalia wants to return to face-to-face classes for all students as soon as possible.

"If the number of infections allows, the schools will be the first to fully reopen," said Laschet on Tuesday in a special session of the Düsseldorf state parliament on the corona pandemic.

Laschet expressly thanked school minister Yvonne Gebauer (FDP) for her fight for classroom teaching.

The SPD opposition, however, last week accused Gebauer of causing chaos and confusion for months and therefore demanded her resignation.

Laschet supported his school minister.

The voice had been nationwide to keep schools open for as long as possible in order to preserve educational justice for everyone.
