Dresden (dpa / sn) - The operators of care facilities in Saxony see themselves overwhelmed with the corona test obligation for visitors.

In addition to the lack of training in handling the rapid tests, the staff is simply missing, the League of Welfare Associations in Saxony announced on Tuesday.

In Saxony, facilities for the elderly, care facilities and the disabled can only be entered with a negative corona test.

That is what the state government has determined.

The measure is intended to increase the safety of residents.

The operators welcomed this request in principle.

The practical implementation is currently not affordable.

The care facilities have already been at their limits for weeks.

The League of Charities suggested mobile teams or regional test centers where the tests could be taken. For this, helpers such as students or the armed forces can be won over. The league of the umbrella organizations of the free welfare associations includes Caritas, Diakonie, the German Red Cross, the Paritätische Wohlfahrtsverband and the regional association of Jewish communities in Saxony.
