Benzema double leads Real Madrid to continue their uprising in the League at the expense of Bilbao

Veteran French striker Karim Benzema scored twice to lead Real Madrid to continue their uprising in the journey to defend their title in the Spanish Football League, with their third consecutive victory with a 3-1 victory over Athletic Bilbao on Tuesday evening.

And at the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium in Madrid, Real took advantage of the numerical shortfall in its home ranks after Raul Garcia was sent off in the 13th minute, and snatched a precious 3-1 victory to raise his score to 26 points, and advance to compete with Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid in the lead, even though Sociedad and Atletico were bettered by goal difference.

In the second half, Ander Capa scored the equalizer for Bilbao in the 52nd minute to worsen the position of the Royal, who failed to maintain his lead in front of 10 players.

But the French star Karim Benzema regained his brilliance and scored the two winning goals for Real in the 74th and second minute of the match's stoppage time, so Bilbao stuck at 14 points in 13th place.
