Heidenheim (dpa) - 1. FC Heidenheim has missed the chance in the 2nd Bundesliga to move closer to the promotion zone.

The team of coach Frank Schmidt did not get beyond a performance-based 0-0 against SSV Jahn Regensburg in an intense fighting game on Tuesday.

The FCH has been unbeaten for six games and is still two points behind the relegation place as fifth.

Regensburg is still waiting for the second away win of the season and is in the middle of the table.

The Jahn set a high pace and pushed the hosts with high pressure on the defensive, but could hardly create scoring opportunities.

Heidenheim freed himself little by little, Denis Thomalla missed the best opportunity when he shot just past the guest goal on the left (24th).

After the break, the FCH was more dominant for a long time, but could hardly prevail in front of the opposing goal.

On the other hand, Andreas Albers missed Regensburg's chance to win shortly before the end (89th).
