Regarding this, the Ministry of Commerce told NHK that "it is a fact that some departments were damaged and we asked the FBI etc. to investigate."



In addition, Reuters and others have reported that IT companies in southern Texas were used for hacking and that a group involving the Russian government was suspected of being involved.



The full extent of the damage is unknown, but it is reported that the US NSC = National Security Council held a meeting on this issue on the 12th, and the US government may have taken the situation seriously.



A spokesman for NSC told NHK, "I am aware of the news. We are doing everything necessary to identify and improve possible problems in this matter," and did not provide details.
