Ibbenbüren (dpa / lnw) - In Ibbenbüren (Steinfurt district), an 84-year-old pedestrian was fatally injured when crossing a country road on Monday afternoon.
According to the police, a 34-year-old driver caught her in his car when the woman and her 86-year-old husband tried to cross the unlit road to a cycle path opposite.
The maximum permitted speed at the scene of the accident is 70 kilometers per hour.
The driver of the car and the husband were reportedly uninjured, the property damage to the car should amount to around 4000 euros.
The exact cause of the accident is determined.
