Erfurt (dpa / th) - A car driver got into the nettle at a police check in Erfurt.

The 31-year-old initially accelerated the sight of the patrol car on Sunday and tried to escape, but stopped after a few hundred meters, as the police announced.

The subsequent control turned out to be anything but pleasant for the man.

Although he did not have a valid driver's license, he had stolen license plates on his car.

The car itself hadn't been registered for four years.

A rapid drug test worked on the man, he was under the influence of cannabis and amphetamines.

And last but not least, the police officers found someone else's credit card on him, the origin of which he could not credibly explain.

According to the police, the 31-year-old is an "old friend" and has already appeared in the past with similar crimes.

There are now several criminal charges against him.
