Dresden (dpa / sn) - On the very first day of the tightened lockdown in Saxony due to the corona pandemic, the learning platform Lernsax of the Ministry of Culture was disrupted.

As the ministry announced on Monday, there has been a cyber attack on another learning platform, which, however, works with the same basic technology as Lernsax and is supported by the same data center.

Lernsax itself was not attacked, it said.

The restricted functionality of the portal is a collateral damage of the hacker attack.

Work is at full speed to eliminate the disruption.

Schools in Saxony have been closed since Monday due to the tightened lockdown until January 10th.

According to the ministry, the students are studying at home.

Lernsax is an important communication platform for students and teachers, especially during the corona pandemic, on which, among other things, information is exchanged, lessons are given and learning material can be accessed via the Internet.

Lernsax had only been targeted by a hacker last week.

There was also a disruption during the lockdown in spring.

The FDP-affiliated youth organization Jungliberale Aktion called the latest incident embarrassing.
