Souad, an orphan student from the Ait Bokmaz Mountains (the outskirts of Azilal, Morocco) gathered her strength and suggested the price to her visitors, in light of the mockery of her friends and their belief that the price of her carpet will not reach this price, but an auction on the Instagram platform will double the price of Souad's carpet (130 cm x 90 cm) 80 times, for $ 2,000, it becomes the most expensive and most popular rug in its kind.
The one who launched the auction was the supervisor of an application called "Yateemy" for caring for orphans. The application also houses Souad and about 40 middle school and high school students.
What is an "orphan"?
"Yatimi" is an online application launched by volunteer activist Jalal Aweita about a year ago. It is aimed at sponsoring and caring for orphans.
The application provides a platform for the sponsor to follow up on those who sponsor orphans on a daily basis, after the selection process that gives the sponsor a brief description of the orphan with all his personal information.
The application enables the sponsor to follow everything related to the life of their sponsored persons in terms of education, sports, health, education, hobbies and others.

Sponsorship projects
Souad, the owner of the auction carpet, lives in one of the two shelters that the app’s supervisors have been able to provide in cooperation with a local association.

Jalal Aouita explained - to Al-Jazeera Net - that the application provided during the quarantine period a grant of about one and a half million dirhams (150 thousand dollars) for the benefit of the breadwinners of widows' families who stopped working due to the quarantine, especially the housemaids.
The app funds an orphanage in Inezgane (charitable shelter), and two shelters for female students, in partnership with the "Samanid" association, to enable girls to pursue studies in the middle and secondary school.

According to Aweita, the students of the two shelters excel in their studies and Majdat, as the two centers provide them with proximity to the school and the necessary supplies they need in terms of food, clothing, books and entertainment.
There are about 44 students living in the two centers, all of whom are girls of the mountain. They are either orphans, mother or father, or orphans, mother and father together.
The app was also able to provide Eid sacrifice for the families of the sponsored, as well as income-generating activities, among others.

Jalal Aweita believes that the time has come to think about small income-generating projects for the benefit of the sponsored, and that the application promises new and further development, and that it can provide job opportunities.
The application also provides a scholarship that is given to talented orphans who are over the age of 18 to complete their studies in the highest national and international schools to suit their genius and ambition.
