Horst (dpa / lno) - Three runaway dogs hunted alpacas in Horst (Steinburg district) and seriously injured one of the small camels.

The three huskies ran away on Friday evening and followed three alpacas in a meadow, the police said on Monday.

Before the police even arrived, the dogs cornered one of the little camels and seriously injured them with bites.

It was taken to a veterinary clinic in Hanover.

It was initially unclear whether the pregnant animal would survive.

The owners of the alpacas were able to lock two of the dogs that had gone wild according to the police in a stall.

The third dog was later caught by the dog owner.

According to the information, the huskies had not run away for the first time and had received negative attention.
