It is to slow down the spread of infection as the last school week before the Christmas holidays takes place at a distance.

On Sunday, the municipality was contacted by the infection control, which sees an increased spread of infection, mainly in Umeå, in the age group where high school students are included.

- Late yesterday we received a recommendation from the infection control and now we go out with information to our staff, says Ann-Christine Gradin, director of education Umeå.

- We see an increase in the age group 13-15 years.

There are accumulations of cases at some schools, so we asked the question yesterday whether they can go over to a distance to possibly have an additional slowing-down effect, says Stephan Stenmark, infection control doctor.

During Monday morning, principals and school staff in Umeå will be informed and from tomorrow Tuesday onwards, distance learning will take place. It is already clear that the first days after the holiday will also take place at a distance.
