Karlsruhe (dpa / lsw) - The winning streak of Karlsruher SC in the 2nd Bundesliga is over.

After four successes in a row, Baden lost 1: 2 (0: 1) against Fortuna Düsseldorf on Sunday and fell back to ninth place in the table.

Luka Krajnc (12th minute) and Kristoffer Peterson (57th) scored the goals for the Bundesliga relegated, who climbed into the top half of the table with his first away win of the current season.

Philipp Hofmann shortened a penalty for KSC (72nd).

Karlsruhe had the first big chance of the game through Marvin Wanitzek (5th), but with the lead through Krajnc after a corner, Fortuna then took control.

Peterson (35.) and Kenan Karaman (45.) could have added before the break.

After an urgent phase of KSC at the beginning of the second half, Düsseldorf's Peterson met with a nice flick, then the outstanding Karlsruhe goalkeeper Marius Gersbeck parried against Karaman (60th) and Shinta Appelkamp (66th).

The game seemed decided before Florian Kastenmeier made it exciting again.

First Düsseldorf's goalkeeper owed a penalty, which Hofmann confidently sunk.

Then he hit the ball away in frustration and saw yellow and red instead.

The hosts then no longer overcame his deputy Raphael Wolf.
