Erfurt (dpa / th) - Despite the lockdown, Thuringia continues to allow church services during the Christmas season from Wednesday - but with conditions.

That said Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow (left) on Sunday after the switching conference of the federal and state governments.

There are strict restrictions that the churches are responsible for implementing, said the head of government.

Singing is not possible at church services, mouth and nose covers must be worn and there must be sufficient distance between the visitors.

He has already informed representatives of the churches about this regulation, said Ramelow.

Like the other federal states, Thuringia will drastically restrict social life from December 16, in order to curb the high number of infections.
