The local authority in Shabwa governorate, southeastern Yemen, has warned contractors not to participate or carry out any construction work inside the Al-Alam camp and the Balhaf invading facility, in which Emirati forces are stationed, while the United Nations called for the implementation of the Hodeidah agreement between the Yemeni government and the Houthis.

In a statement issued by the Security Committee, the Shabwa local authority gave the contractors who have construction equipment inside the two sites 6 days to withdraw it.

The local authority said that the Emirati side is behaving as if it is the owner, and that it has built facilities whose determination is evident in its intention to stay for decades.

The statement added that these buildings violate the supreme interest of the homeland, harm them, and are carried out without any coordination or Yemeni approval.

The local authority renewed its warning to the Emirati side and its loyalists against exploiting the poverty of the people of the province to plunge them into futile wars and malicious ambitions, according to the statement.

In Taiz, Yemeni athletes and activists participated in a protest today at the Al-Ahly club headquarters in Taiz city, denouncing the bombing that the club was subjected to yesterday by the Houthis, which led to the killing of former football player Nasser Al-Raimi and his son, and the injury of two other children.

The participants raised banners expressing their disapproval of the crime of targeting the club by bombing, and calling for the perpetrators to be held accountable.

On the other hand, the head of the United Nations Mission to Support the Hodeidah Agreement, Abhijit Goha, called for the implementation of the agreement signed between the Yemeni government and the Houthis to end the suffering of the Yemeni people.

On the second anniversary of the signing of the agreement, Goha said the two parties should renew their commitment to the agreement.

The Hodeidah agreement provides for a ceasefire in the city of Hodeidah, in western Yemen, and for the re-operation of the ports in the city under the protection of local security forces.
