Berlin (dpa / bb) - During a chase in Berlin-Mitte, a police car drove into the chased car.

The officers in the patrol car had started the chase on Sunday night after the driver ignored stop signals from the police due to a missing rear license plate and sped through Mitte.

Accordingly, the 18-year-old driver drove through several red traffic lights, so that pedestrians had to jump to the side and drivers had to brake.

Finally, the car suddenly braked sharply at the intersection of Leipziger Straße and Jerusalemer Platz and it collided with the police car.

Nobody was harmed during the accident.

The 18-year-old is said to have continued his escape on foot and was arrested a little later.

It turned out that he did not have a driver's license and that the front license plate of the car had been stolen.

The 42-year-old passenger was also checked, he had suspected drugs with him.

Both men were arrested.
