Neuss (dpa / lnw) - Scout associations are distributing the light of peace in North Rhine-Westphalia that was lit in Bethlehem this Sunday.

It is received by around 150 scouts in the cathedral in Münster.

Because of the corona pandemic, the scout associations are not holding any major celebrations this year.

The light that is supposed to connect people and nations across borders will shine, also in church services in Cologne, Dortmund, Essen and Aachen.

The light can then be picked up by interested parties.

In Plettenberg (Märkischer Kreis) it should be passed through the car window at a drive-in station.

The light was lit in the birth grotto in Bethlehem and brought to Salzburg on the initiative of the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF).

From there, the little flame was driven to NRW in a car.

On Thursday, the peace light from Bethlehem will also be presented to Prime Minister Armin Laschet (CDU) in the State Chancellery.
