Johnson noted that significant differences remain between the parties.

“We are always ready to negotiate and make progress where possible ... However, our positions are still very different on key issues that everyone knows about,” said the British Prime Minister.

He called the return of the UK to trade with the EU under the rules of the World Trade Organization as the most likely scenario.

“There are advantages here.

This is not what the United Kingdom was aiming for, but if it ends this way, we are more than prepared, ”Johnson said.

At the same time, he assured that London will continue to try to conclude a trade agreement with the European Union.

Earlier Johnson called the EU conditions unacceptable for Britain.

At the same time, Luxembourg's Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn expressed the opinion that Great Britain risks leaving not only the European Union, but also de facto leaving the whole of Europe if negotiations with the EU on a trade deal fail.

In October, Johnson urged his compatriots to be prepared for the kingdom's failure to agree on a trade deal with the EU.
