Aachen (AP) - Five police officers were seriously injured in a collision between two patrol cars in Aachen.
On Saturday evening around 9 p.m. numerous emergency calls were received about a major brawl in the area of the Westbahnhof, the police said.
Several patrol cars from across the city center were sent to the specified location.
On the way, two emergency vehicles collided at an intersection when they tried to turn with flashing lights and a siren at the same time.
All five police officers were seriously injured and taken to nearby hospitals.
Those involved in the brawl could, however, be arrested by other police officers, the police said.
Here, too, there were four slightly injured.
Criminal proceedings were initiated against the rioters.
Police notice
