Munich (dpa) - The ice hockey professionals of the EHC Red Bull Munich are in the final of the DEL preparation tournament.
The team of coach Don Jackson defeated the Düsseldorfer EG deservedly 3: 1 (0: 0, 2: 1, 1: 0) in the second semi-final of the MagentaSport Cup on Friday evening and competes in the final on Sunday (3 p.m. / MagentaSport) Fischtown Pinguins from Bremerhaven.
The North Germans defeated Adler Mannheim in the first semifinals on Thursday.
The tournament is being held in preparation for the new season in the German Ice Hockey League, which is scheduled to start on December 17th.
Munich international Yasin Ehliz, who only returned to team training on Wednesday after an injury, shot the EHC 2-0 in the second period with a brace in the 28th minute.
DEG striker Charlie Jahnke shortened ten minutes later to 2: 1 (38th).
But Chris Bourque made a good five minutes before the end for the decision in favor of the hosts.
