Val d'Isere (dpa) - Mauro Caviezel has won the first Super-G of the alpine ski season.
The Swiss celebrated his first ever World Cup victory in Val d'Isere, 0.10 seconds ahead of the Norwegian Adrian Smiseth Sejersted and the Austrian Christian Walder (+0.54).
As the best of the German sextet, Andreas Sander came eighth in the “Criterion of the first snow”, 0.88 seconds behind.
Josef Ferstl was 1.16 seconds behind the winner and narrowly missed a place in the top 15.
