Berlin (dpa) - Regional soccer team BAK 07 has published a working paper on the continuation of the season in the northeast relay.

The club proposes a continuation of the league from March with a simple round, as the club announced on Saturday.

After the 19 games of the actual first half of the season, the league is divided into four groups of five to determine champions and promoted players in the third division and those who have been relegated to the top division.

According to the BAK working paper, which is currently in fifth place, the teams that have occupied places one to ten in the final table play the champions, the other clubs determine the three or more relegated teams.

In the respective groups of five, a simple round with four games is also played.

The two first-placed teams then cross over to the semi-finals.

The winners of the semifinals play for promotion.

In the two lower groups, the last two players play off the relegated teams.

The losers of the semi-finals are relegated as well as the loser of the final.

At the end of November, the Northeast German Football Association (NOFV) stopped playing until the end of the year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Coach Dirk Kuhnert from league rivals FC Carl Zeiss Jena had already spoken out in favor of the playoffs shortly after the cancellation if the season should be canceled completely.
