Bayern Munich wasted two valuable points in the campaign to defend the German football league title, by drawing 1-1 with host Union Berlin on Saturday in the 11th round.

Leipzig shared the lead with the Bavarian club, beating its guest Werder Bremen 2-0.

In Berlin, Union advanced with an early goal just 4 minutes into the match, via Grisia Bormel.

In the second half, Polish striker Robert Lewandowski saved his team from falling into the trap of defeat, and was able to equalize the score for the Bavarian club in the 67th minute.

Bayern and Leipzig shared the lead with 24 points each, but Bayern were ahead of the goal difference, and Werder Bremen's balance stopped at 11 points in 13th place, while Union Berlin raised its score to 17 points in sixth place.
