The more than 3800 members of the film academy vote on many award winners, similar to the Oscars in the USA.

Most of the nominations have been made for the drama “Martin Eden” by Pietro Marcello, the drama “Corpus Christi” by Jan Komasa and the tragic comedy “Der Rausch” by Danish director Thomas Vinterberg.

In it Vinterberg tells of four men who dare to experiment.

Mads Mikkelsen plays one of the leading roles.

In Germany, the film is scheduled to hit cinemas in early 2021.

The drama "Martin Eden" is also nominated - it is about a man from a humble background who wants to become a writer.

The story is based on the novel of the same name by Jack London.

The drama "Corpus Christi" tells of an ex-prisoner who poses as a priest.

"The Painted Bird" by Václav Marhoul has also been nominated for best film.
