Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - North Rhine-Westphalia will take part in the police study planned by Federal Interior Minister Horst Seehofer (CSU).

He announced this at the conference of interior ministers, said department head Herbert Reul (CDU) on Friday in Düsseldorf.

Seehofer commissioned the study from the German Police University in Münster.

All ministers had indicated their support at the conference.

The subject of the study is to be the everyday work of the police.

However, some states such as Rhineland-Palatinate and Lower Saxony want to carry out additional investigations themselves and have in some cases already started.

After the increased number of right-wing extremist suspected cases among the police, the demand for an investigation into racist attitudes among the police had become loud. Reul and Seehofer rejected such a study.
