Bochum (AP) - VfL Bochum managed to win at home in the promotion of the 2nd Bundesliga.

On Friday evening, coach Thomas Reis's team prevailed 3-0 (0-0) against SC Paderborn.

Robert Zulj made it 1-0 in the 48th minute, before Zulj scored 2-0 with a penalty kick (60th) within just 60 seconds and Simon Zoller (61st) made the decision with the 3-0.

With the victory, the Bochum team climbed to second place in the table, at least for the time being.

The Paderborn, however, suffered their third defeat in a row - and remained for the third time in a row without their own hit.

The guests from East Westphalia acted aggressively as usual, were at least equal over long stretches in a fast-paced game and had good chances to score.

But from the self-inflicted double blow that central defender Uwe Hünemeier had initiated with a foul in the penalty area on Zoller, the guests no longer care.

Zulj, who had already hit with a flick shortly after the break, also safely converted the penalty, Zoller used a Paderborn bad pass to the final score only one minute later.
