Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - One week after the announcement of the immediate dismissals of the former lottery bosses in Saxony-Anhalt, the parliamentary committee of inquiry (Pua) wants to question further witnesses about lottery funding.

The former managing director of Lotto Sachsen-Anhalt, Wolfgang Angenendt, has been invited to the meeting on Friday (10 a.m.).

In addition, the MPs want to question a former employee of the Ministry of Finance, who was responsible for the lottery funding at the time.

Several witnesses had canceled because of the corona pandemic, said the committee chairman Andreas Steppuhn (SPD) in advance.

One witness was abroad, for example, and stated that she was therefore unable to enter the country without further ado, other witnesses had canceled due to illness.

Last week, after months of quarrels, it became known that the former Lotto management duo had already been dismissed without notice in mid-October.

The ex-bosses are said to have withheld information about abnormalities from the supervisory board.

The committee of inquiry, which was constituted in September 2019, has so far investigated possible violations of the Money Laundering Act, the activities of major players and how the lottery management dealt with the abnormalities.

The allocation of jobs and possible personal connections also play a role.

The research assignment also includes the use of funds.
