Saarbrücken (dpa / lrs) - The Saarbrücken regional court is expected to speak the verdict in the trial of serious child sexual abuse against a psychologist today.

The public prosecutor's office has requested four and a half years in prison in two cases.

It is clear to her that the psychologist, who was originally accused for a total of ten cases, sexually abused an initially seven-year-old boy several times between 2004 and 2006 during long-term therapy.

Although the public prosecutor's office was “absolutely convinced” that there had actually been at least ten of these serious sexual abuses, only two could be specified in such a way that the man could be convicted.

The defender of the 74-year-old, however, demanded an acquittal - according to the principle "In case of doubt for the accused". The district court had already sentenced the psychologist to six years imprisonment for serious sexual abuse of children. The Federal Court of Justice reversed the judgment at the end of 2012 and referred the case back to the court in Saarbrücken. There has been another negotiation since mid-September.
