Fachbach (dpa / lrs) - In view of the corona-related ban on traditional Advent markets, a drive-in Christmas market opened in Fachbach an der Lahn on Friday.

Drivers can stop at 15 houses and stalls decorated for Christmas here one after the other and buy roasted almonds, Christmas cookies, spices, children's punch and mulled wine, as organizer Oliver Schupp announced.

"Getting out is prohibited," he emphasized with a view to the corona virus.

Pedestrians are also not allowed to come.

The route in one direction on the approximately 10,000 square meter area, where otherwise caravans and mobile homes would be located, is about 500 meters long and has been agreed with the police and regulatory authorities.

According to Schupp, several showmen built the booths and delivered the lights.

Initially, drivers would be guided through a 30-meter tunnel with thousands of small lights.

Because of its close proximity to the Lahn, the brightly lit drive-in offer is called "Winter Wonderful Christmas Lazy".

Schupp explained: “In times of Corona and more and more restrictions and bans, people long for a bit of normalcy.

Especially at Christmas time. "

That gave him and his wife Jessica Schupp, manager of the campsite, the idea of the Christmas market for drivers.

It is open this weekend (December 11th to 13th) and December 17th to 20th.
