Karlsruhe (dpa / lsw) - Because he is said to have attacked another man in Karlsruhe with a machete, a 32-year-old is in custody.

The man is accused of quarreling in front of his apartment with a 48-year-old and kicking him on November 24, police and prosecutors said on Friday.

Later on, the 32-year-old is said to have hit his opponent's head with a machete.

Only because he was able to repel the attack and flee, he escaped fatal injuries.

His hands were seriously injured in the process.

It was only days later that the 48-year-old filed a complaint against unknown persons. The police investigated the 32-year-old German who was arrested on Thursday morning.

The accused, who is under urgent suspicion of attempted manslaughter, has not yet commented on the crime.

According to the police, the motive is still completely unclear.

Whether the two men knew each other before the argument also remains to be determined.
