A monolith was installed on the evening of December 9 by the organizers of the Bricks Festival, before being stolen overnight.

The inscriptions engraved on the monolith were to give information about the authors of this ephemeral installation.

Too ephemeral.

Because this block of metal put in place Wednesday around 5 p.m. on the hill of Pech-David, on the heights of Toulouse, will not have remained in place for 24 hours.

This Thursday morning, all that was left was its iron plinth.

But the happening still had a certain echo.

And it was the will of those who made it happen, inspired by the buzz born of the discovery in November of a metal monolith in the glowing desert of Utah, and many others since.

As in the United States, in Toulouse, it was actors from the cultural world who had the idea.

“We said to ourselves that we were going to do one, in particular to announce the dates of the festival which were on the monolith, as well as the coordinates of where it takes place.

Beyond the highlighting of our event, it was also a way of highlighting the cultural industry, which is at half mast today ”, deplores Hugo Sautarel, one of the organizers of the Bricks Festival.

The monolith had disappeared this Thursday morning, the only vestige of its passage in Pech-David, a plinth.

The latter, dedicated to electronic music, will be held in La Mounède, on June 12 and 13, dates and GPS coordinates which were therefore given, in the form of a treasure hunt.

Now visible only to those who have mown the famous monolith, which its owners would like to find.
