(Fighting against New Coronary Pneumonia) French officials substantially adjusted the "unblocking" plan to resume the curfew on the 15th of this month

China News Agency, Paris, December 10 (Reporter Li Yang) The French official said on the 10th local time that it was unable to achieve the "unblocking" target of reducing the number of new confirmed cases in a single day to less than 5,000 on the 15th of this month. The “unblocking” plan has undergone substantial adjustments.

French Prime Minister Castel held a press conference that night to inform the situation of the epidemic.

He said that although the French epidemic has eased and the French people have also worked hard to fight the epidemic and have shown a sense of responsibility, the country has not yet emerged from the second wave of the epidemic, and the fight against the epidemic is far from winning.

Since France was unable to achieve the "unblocking" target of reducing the number of new confirmed cases in a single day to less than 5,000 on the 15th of this month, Castel's representative officially made significant adjustments to the previously announced "unblocking" plan.

The first is to resume the curfew from the 15th. The curfew will start at 8 pm and end at 6 am the next day.

People who go out during the curfew must bring a travel certificate, otherwise they will face penalties.

In October this year, France imposed a curfew to fight the epidemic. The curfew was from 9 pm to 6 am the next morning.

The second is to postpone the reopening of cultural venues.

The original "unblocking" plan plans to reopen museums, cinemas, theaters and other cultural venues on the 15th of this month.

Castel said that the above cultural venues will continue to be closed until early next year.

Restrictions on religious sites will not be relaxed.

French officials will study whether to reopen cultural and sports venues on January 7 next year.

The third is the strengthening of control measures during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Castel said that the Christmas holidays and New Year's Eve on December 31 are "particularly dangerous moments" for epidemic prevention and control. He reminded the public to be extra vigilant.

The curfew was temporarily lifted on Christmas Day on December 25 to facilitate family reunion. Officials still recommend limiting the number of gatherings; the curfew will still be imposed on New Year’s Eve on December 31.

French Interior Minister Dalmanin stated that the French police have conducted a total of 2.92 million inspections since the second "closed city".

He said that in the next few weeks, the police will maintain law enforcement and will strictly investigate gatherings and other activities.

The epidemic data released by the French Ministry of Health that night showed that the cumulative number of confirmed cases in France was 2,337,966, and there were 13,750 new cases in a single day on the 10th.

The cumulative number of deaths from new coronary pneumonia in France is 56,940, with 292 new deaths.
