The head of the Russian government, Mikhail Mishustin, received all the documents on the normalization of food prices by Monday morning.

“I would like to draw your attention immediately to the fact that all the necessary regulatory legal acts should be prepared by 9 am on Monday and reported to me personally,” the prime minister said at the meeting.

The prime minister asked the meeting participants from next week to report to him weekly on the situation with prices for basic products in the framework of meetings with deputy prime ministers.

“If necessary, make urgent decisions and inform me personally and immediately,” the prime minister added.

As part of the decision to normalize prices, Mishustin called for the involvement of a chain of manufacturers, intermediaries and retail chains in this work.

Earlier, the head of government noted that the responsible ministries and departments did not take timely measures and missed the situation with an increase in prices for important products, although there are all the tools for this.

The prime minister recalled that back in the fall, the government saw a tendency for food prices to rise and paid attention to this.

“But many of you explained such an increase only by a seasonal factor, not taking into account the volume of exports of these goods and the dynamics of world prices for these products, an increase in the exchange rate, a reduction in the production of a number of commodity items.

But the seasonality has changed, but the situation has not improved, ”the prime minister said.

Mishustin stressed that we are talking about a topic "extremely sensitive" for people.

The prime minister urged manufacturers and managers of retail chains "not to profit from people", and declared the need to take decisive measures and deal with pricing.

“In the face of declining income, this is simply unacceptable.

If the president points out the current situation to us, it means that the work of all the structures I have listed and their leaders are failing, ”the prime minister said.

Mishustin stressed that the ministers of agriculture, economic development, industry and trade were instructed to monitor the situation with food prices in retail, and work out this issue with the largest retail chains.

According to the prime minister, proposals should be developed on additional measures to stabilize the situation with regard to basic goods.

In addition, the Minister of Agriculture needs to negotiate with producers, to involve the Federal Antimonopoly Service and the Federal Tax Service in this work.

He instructed First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov to get involved in the situation.

"I instruct the Federal Tax Service to directly monitor the situation with food prices on a weekly basis and report to me at an operational meeting on Mondays," he said.

He also instructed Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko to monitor the implementation of the Prime Minister's instructions on these issues.

Let us remind you that earlier Vladimir Putin drew attention to the situation with food prices.

During a meeting on economic issues, the President said that the rise in prices for basic foodstuffs is not related to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

“The growth in basic foodstuffs cannot be explained by a pandemic.

What does a pandemic have to do with it? "

- he declared.

He drew attention to the rise in prices for sugar, sunflower oil, flour, pasta, bread and bakery products.

Putin noted that "this is the dynamics of prices on world markets and an attempt to adjust domestic prices to match world ones, as well as to use export opportunities."

“We all know what to do in such cases.

All the instruments to contain the growth of prices, at least for these positions, are known.

You just need to react in a timely manner to what is happening, ”he said.

According to Rosstat, a number of products have risen in price more than inflation in recent years.

In the first week of December, this figure was 0.2%.

At the same time, according to the ministry, from December 1 to December 7, chicken eggs rose in price by 3.2%, sunflower oil - by 1.7%, wheat flour, rye bread, noodles and pasta - 0.3%.

In addition, sugar prices have risen significantly.

Over the same period, chicken eggs and sunflower oil rose in price by 4.9% and 25.9%, respectively.

In addition, since the beginning of the year, the growth in prices for wheat flour amounted to 12.7%.
