Neither the defendants nor their lawyer came to the courthouse this Thursday afternoon.

The trial of the two police officers which was to be held this Thursday before the criminal court of Lyon was postponed for various administrative questions.

The officials of the departmental security of the Rhône will finally appear on February 23 in court for "willful violence in a meeting".

Nine broken teeth

The facts of which they are accused date back to December 10, 2019. On that day, Arthur, 24, was beaten up by “police officers” on the sidelines of a demonstration against pension reform.

During this "gratuitous attack", which had taken place while the young man was strolling calmly to leave Place Bellecour, in the grip of clashes between demonstrators and police, Arthur Naciri had been seriously injured.

He had had a fractured jaw and nine broken teeth.

After the dissemination of videos and photos of the scene and significant media coverage, the Lyon prosecutor's office had instructed the IGPN to investigate these facts.
