According to him, during the meeting, the topic of Navalny was raised: a member of the HRC Nikolai Svanidze asked a question why a criminal case was not opened.

"The President explained in great detail why a criminal case has not been opened: an investigation is underway on this fact, but it is impossible to open a criminal case, because there are no proper documents, in particular, there is nothing from the German side," RIA Novosti quotes Fadeev.

As Fadeev said, Putin noted that the relevant institutions of Russia have repeatedly requested documents from the FRG.

“There are no documents on the basis of what to start a criminal case?

And the President assured that we are here in Russia, the Russian authorities are, of course, extremely interested in investigating this case, ”the head of the HRC stressed.

Navalny was hospitalized on August 20 in Omsk after he fell ill on the plane from Tomsk to Moscow.

Later he was transported by plane to Germany.

In Berlin, they said that research revealed a substance from the Novichok group in Navalny.

The Russian side noted that Germany violated the norms of the CWC when it refused to cooperate on the situation with Navalny.
