A 23-year-old young man was tried on Wednesday in the Lorient court for having run into a police vehicle on September 19, reports

Traveling with two passengers on board, the accused had first tried to escape control by the anti-crime squad.

A chase was then engaged in the streets of the city.

After running a red light, the driver had hit head-on another police car in which there were three officers.

Two of them had been seriously injured, one still being confined in a medical bed.

The passengers in the vehicle involved in the collision were also slightly injured.

During his arrest, the police discovered that the young driver was driving without a license and with an alcohol level of 1.16 grams in his blood.
