The opening was attended by guests of honor, cultural figures, friends, relatives and the widow of Yuri Luzhkov Elena Baturina.
Near the house where the commemorative plaque is being opened, traffic was blocked.
Former Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov died on December 10, 2019 at the age of 83.
The politician was buried at the Novodevichy cemetery.
