Schwandorf (dpa / lby) - After a mass corona infection, the authorities partially evacuated a retirement home in Upper Palatinate.
In one of two houses in the Naabtalpark senior citizens' residence in Burglengenfeld, 37 of the 45 residents and 19 employees were infected, as the Schwandorf district office announced on Thursday evening.
Eight residents are so sick that they have to be treated in clinics.
Fifteen residents were to be transferred to outpatient intensive care in Regensburg.
Fifteen more are said to be able to stay in the home.
In the evening 65 emergency services were busy with the evacuation, including fire fighters who set up additional lighting. The authorities determined the "nursing emergency" and organized emergency care for the night by an ambulance service. In the second house of the senior citizens' residence, no residents have been infected so far.
