Schwerin (dpa / mv) - Unlike initially planned, hotels in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are not allowed to accept family visitors over Christmas.

“We will therefore refrain from the fact that it is possible for members of the core family to stay in hotels.

Hotels, holiday apartments and holiday homes will be completely closed over Christmas and New Year, ”announced Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD) on Thursday in Schwerin.

Initially, it was planned that between December 23 and January 1, core family members, such as parents or children, would be allowed to stay in hotels in the northeast for a maximum of three nights. Schwesig also announced that visits to the nuclear family should be possible over Christmas. They would therefore have to spend the night in the family members' apartments and houses.
