An international conference in Dubai discussed a package of the most prominent diseases and problems of children and newborns, especially infectious diseases, with the aim of sharing the latest experiences, research and international studies in the field of pediatrics.
The 9th Dubai International Pediatrics and Neonatology Conference was held over two days, in cooperation between Ras Al Khaimah University of Medicine and Health Sciences and Amina Hospital in Ajman.
The consultant pediatrics and neonatology at Amina Hospital in Ajman, the conference chairperson, Dr. Sharif Musaad, said that the conference was held with actual attendance inside the lecture hall, taking into account the precautionary measures, and the virtual attendance with the participation of 1000 doctors, in addition to the presence of 200 doctors from around the country to discuss the findings of science. In the field of pediatrics, from digestive diseases, children's nutrition, the importance of breast milk and the role of beneficial bacteria in children's health and heart disease.
He also discussed the infection of children with "Covid-19", methods of treatment with artificial respirators, and chest diseases in children (bronchial asthma).
The program included six workshops to discuss various topics, including the use of endoscopes in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the digestive system, and the use of ultrasound in the treatment of chest diseases.
During the conference, Dr. Sherif was exposed to the multiple inflammatory disease that affects children in various countries, and it causes inflammation in the heart, intestine, digestive system and kidneys, and 80% of children with this disease need intensive care, and the death rate does not exceed 1%.
For his part, the Executive Director of Al Jalila Children's Hospital and the honorary president of the conference, Dr. Abdullah Al-Khayyat, said, “The conference, which is held in light of the challenges of (Covid-19), succeeded in enabling doctors to update their medical information and become familiar with the latest findings of the world in the field of Treatments for children's diseases, by sharing research and various scientific experiences ».
