Joao Doria was the first to shoot.

On Monday, the governor of Sao Paulo, Brazil's largest state, assured Chinese manufacturer Sinovac's vaccine would be available on January 25, a date that coincides with “

Sao Paulo's birthday

 ”.

Problem, all scientific studies on this vaccine have not yet been concluded, and it has yet to be approved by the Brazilian health authorities.

The government responded on Tuesday, December 8, saying that the national vaccination program will be launched at the end of February, but with another vaccine, that of

the University of Oxford and AstraZeneca.

Jair Bolsonaro specifies that any vaccine will be available as soon as its effectiveness is proven and that it has the green light from the health authorities.

The normal period is 60 days, recalls the Minister of Health, but some would like to trigger an emergency procedure to obtain this authorization in three days and to start vaccinating the population as quickly as possible, while

the Covid-19 kills more of 500 people

per day in Brazil.
