In the past month, the sun has appeared for the measuring station in Lund, one of the few weather stations in Skåne that measures hours of sunshine, for a total of 24.3 hours.

According to SVT's meteorologist Maria Augutis, this is about half of the hours of sunshine Lund usually gets.

Sun on three occasions

Gray worse.

If you only look at December, it gets even grayer.

Of the 24 hours, only one has occurred during the month of December - in total.

For the sun has appeared on three occasions:

  • 18 minutes on Wednesday 2 December.

  • 36 minutes on Saturday 5 December.

  • 6 minutes on Sunday, December 6.

- This is because we are in a weather situation where really mild and humid air flows in over the country with southeast winds.

The clouds settle like a thick gray blanket over us and the December sun is simply too weak to burn off the clouds.

The greyish, or perhaps greyish, weather will stubbornly linger in the future as well, so just try to like the situation, says SVT's meteorologist Maria Augutis.
