Last year, the Uppsala Police Intelligence Service recorded 34 shootings, or "firearm violence" as it is called internally, which placed the municipality among the worst affected in the country.

So far this year, the shootings have decreased to 13.

- We have worked extremely intensively and seized several fine seizures in the form of firearms and this disrupts the criminals' activities, says Jonas Eronen, press spokesperson at the police.

Hand grenade against the police house

During the spring, Operation Rimfrost, with a special focus on weapons within the serious criminal environment, was launched in Uppsala.

- But we have actually been working against this ever since 2017 when someone threw a grenade that exploded at the police station, says Jonas Eronen.

"Back to box one"

Even though it is now calmer when it comes to shootings, the police do not dare to let go of the guard.

- It can explode at any time and we do not take anything for granted, so we continue to work intensively.

It is extremely easy to slip back to square one.

In the clip below, you can see where it was shot last year.

According to the intelligence service, five more shootings occurred than those in the video.
