Secretary-general Yoshida of the Social Democratic Party and Chairman of the Policy Council Yoshikawa will leave the party later this month and are making adjustments to join the Constitutional Democratic Party.

Regarding the merger with the Constitutional Democratic Party, the Social Democratic Party decided at an extraordinary party convention last month that the party would remain disagreed and the party members who wished to join would be allowed to leave the party.

In response to this, among the four members of the Social Democratic Party, Secretary-general Yoshida and Chairman of the Policy Council Yoshikawa said, "As a member of the first opposition party, I want to realize the policy I am aiming for." However, we are making adjustments to join the Constitutional Democratic Party.

Meanwhile, a member of the House of Representatives Teruya, who has decided not to run for the next House of Representatives election, told the people concerned that he would not leave the party during his term.

For this reason, the Social Democratic Party is expected to have two members, Fukushima leader and Teruya, for the time being until the next House of Representatives election.
