A young black American killed by police because of a "sandwich"

An Ohio State Police officer shot a black youth with a sandwich in his hand just as the policeman believed he was carrying a pistol.

Police said Casey Christopher Godson Jr., 23, was returning to his home in northeastern Columbus last Friday afternoon, after visiting a dentist, where he was driving with a sandwich in his hand.

And at the time, Franklin County police were looking for a suspect, and they saw the Godson sandwich and mistook it for a pistol, they said.

Then, one of the policemen asked Godson to get out of the car and put his gun on the ground, which the black youth did not understand, so the policeman shot him at once.

Godson later died of his wounds.

However, the Godson family said that he was not in his car at the time of the accident, but was walking in front of his house while eating a sandwich, noting that the police shot him in the back three times.

The activists demanded that the police publish video clips of the incident, while the police officers said that they were not wearing any physical cameras that day, but they confirmed that they were investigating the incident.
