A gendarme was wounded by a firearm during an arrest this Wednesday in Chérisy (Eure-et-Loir), near Dreux, before being hospitalized, announced the prosecutor of the Republic of Chartres, Rémi Coutin .
“The gendarme was injured in the shoulder and is hospitalized.
His days are not in danger, ”said the magistrate.
An investigation opened for attempted homicide
“In the early morning [Wednesday], a gendarme of the security and intervention platoon (PSIG) of Lucé was wounded by a firearm, perhaps a shotgun, by an individual that the gendarmerie was about to arrest in the context of a pimping case, ”explained the prosecutor.
The prosecution opened a procedure for attempted homicide against a person holding public authority.
The investigation was entrusted to the research section of Orléans and to the research brigade of Lucé.
Impacts stopped by the bulletproof vest
From a source close to the file, the wanted person greeted the PSIG soldiers by firing shots through the door of his home.
The leader of the PSIG was then injured in the shoulder, one of the impacts having been stopped by his bulletproof vest.
From the same source, the shooter then took refuge on the roof with his dog.
He then threw down his gun and was arrested.
The dog was captured by a dog team from the PSIG in Dreux.
