Berlin (dpa / bb) - In a neighborhood dispute, a 37-year-old was fined 2000 euros.

The district court of Berlin-Tiergarten found the man guilty of property damage in twelve cases and coercion on Wednesday.

He or his partner had smashed peepholes and repeatedly stuck the lock on the cellar door of a couple, the presiding judge justified.

In one case, the man stood in the way of a neighbor at the front door.

The 37-year-old was acquitted on other charges such as stalking and assault.

"There were arguments in the house," said the judge.

The accused and his partner, who live with several children on the ground floor of the house in Berlin-Spandau, acted together.

"But we did not find any re-adjustment."

The accusation that the man had stabbed the tires on a couple's car was not confirmed either.

Throwing eggs listed in the indictment would not have resulted in criminal prosecution.

"When raw eggs fly against the kitchen window or on the balcony, it's dirty and disgusting, but substance damage and thus property damage is not something like that."

The prosecutor had pleaded for a prison sentence of one year and ten months against the man with multiple criminal records.

The alleged victims - spouses aged 62 and 69 and a 60-year-old woman - "moved quietly through their house and felt persecuted," he said in his plea.

They have been severely affected in their everyday life.

The defendant had denied the allegations.

"I just want to be in peace," said the father of seven.

His defense lawyers demanded acquittal and said it was a "neighborhood dispute with charges and contraindications".

The guilty verdict with a fine of 200 daily rates of 10 euros each is not yet final.
