Bremen (dpa / lni) - In Bremen, the large exhibition hall 7 will be set up as a center for vaccinations against the coronavirus.

The reception area was already set up on Wednesday.

The center should be ready for use from the beginning of next week, said a spokesman for the Bremen Health Senator Claudia Bernhard (Left Party).

Up to 1,500 people could be vaccinated daily, although the utilization will be lower initially.

The vaccinations in Germany should start around the turn of the year after the vaccines have been approved by the EU.

According to the Senate, the hall is large enough to be able to keep the necessary distances. It is also conveniently located on the Bürgerweide behind the main train station. Since the outbreak of the corona pandemic, the state parliament, the Bremen citizenship, had met in Hall 7. The MPs already evaded the nearby town hall for their meeting at the end of November. In Bremerhaven, the second city in the state of Bremen, the town hall is being converted into a corona vaccination center.
